Discover the Windfury-like ability through the Wild Strikes Rune in WoW SoD – a unified path for both Alliance and Horde Druids.

In WoW Classic’s Season of Discovery, both Alliance and Horde Druids gain access to abilities previously exclusive to the opposite faction. While Hunters acquire Aspect of the Lion for the Horde, Druids harness Wild Strikes, akin to Windfury, for the Alliance.
Wild Strikes stands as a potent Rune crucial for groups featuring multiple melee DPS classes. Fortunately, attaining it around Level 13 to 14 is feasible, granted access to the Stonetalon Mountains. This guide delves into the Wild Strikes’ effects and the steps to unlock this Rune for Druids.
Wild Strikes Druid Rune Effects & Information

Rune Gear Slot: Chest
Wild Strikes Effects:
- While in Cat or Bear form, nearby party members gain a 20% chance for an extra attack
- Extra attacks activate with melee hits, occurring approximately 1 in 5 hits
- Additional attacks receive a 20% bonus in Attack Power, yielding over a 20% DPS boost for all melee classes
- Does not stack with the Shaman’s Windfury Totem
Wild Strikes grants Druids the Windfury effect, typically exclusive to Shamans in the Horde. It marks the first time Alliance players can access Windfury, functioning under a different name, coinciding with Blessing of Kings.
This Rune empowers Druids to augment melee party members with extra attacks. In effect, each melee hit carries a 20% chance to trigger an additional attack infused with 20% extra attack power, effectively amplifying melee DPS by over 20%.
Essential for endgame content, especially within groups of multiple melee specifications, acquiring Wild Strikes early, preferably before reaching level 25, is paramount.
How To Get the Wild Strikes Rune In WoW SoD

Unlocking Wild Strikes involves traveling to the Stonetalon Mountains, a shared destination for Tauren and Night Elf Druids. Both factions must engage the same enemies—Grimtotem Tauren—at approximately Level 15. Defeat these enemies until obtaining an Idol of the Wild, which must be equipped into the Relic slot.
Subsequently, Druids must heal 10 distinct friendly Beasts to unlock the Rune. These Beasts encompass Hunter pets, shapeshifted Druids, and Shamans in Ghost Wolf form. Ensure these creatures have missing HP (not at full health) before healing them. Look for areas with injured Hunter pets, such as Moonbrook in Westfall or around the Crossroads. After healing 10 creatures, use the Idol from the Character/Equipment screen, and thus, the Wild Stri-kes Rune becomes unlocked and engraveable.
