Master the weapon rarity progression to boost firepower and survive the escalating challenges of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Zombies.

In Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Zombies, survival hinges on upgrading both your operator and weapons using perks, Pack-a-Punch, and available weapon mods scattered across the treacherous Urzikstan map.

Beyond the Pack-a-Punch machine, aether tools found in Reward Rifts obtained through contract completions can elevate a weapon’s rarity level. Understanding the five weapon rarity tiers becomes crucial for combating tougher enemies in Modern Warfare Zombies.

All Rarity Levels:

  • Common (Gray): Basic deployment weapons with no damage bonuses.
  • Uncommon (Green): Receives a 50% damage bonus – frequently found in Tier I threat zones.
  • Rare (Blue): Marked by a blue banner and gets a 100% damage bonus, akin to Pack-a-Punching a common weapon.
  • Epic (Purple): Infrequent in Tier II, receives a 200% damage bonus.
  • Legendary (Orange): Very rare, provides a 300% damage bonus, often found in Tier II and III loot crates or via the mystery box.
  • Ultra (Gold): Exclusive to wonder weapons like Wunderwaffe DG-2 and Scorcher, doesn’t receive damage bonuses but deals substantial damage with unique effects.

Increasing Weapon Rarity:

Unlike Black Ops: Cold War Zombies, there’s no dedicated armory station for easy weapon rarity upgrades. Equipped weapons always start at common rarity, necessitating players to find better weapons or aether tools to enhance weapon rarity. Players can improve their odds of acquiring rare weapons by operating in higher threat zones (Tier II and III) and using wall buys or the mystery box.

Alternatively, players can scavenge for aether tools matching or surpassing their weapon’s current rarity to upgrade it. Stowing high-tier aether tools outside the game allows instant weapon upgrades upon deployment.

As players progress through Operation Deadbolt’s missions in Modern Warfare Zombies, they gather acquisitions and schematics, enabling operator enhancements pre-game. Aetherium crystals grant instant Pack-a-Punch upgrades or perks consumables, aiding survival in Urzikstan. Crafting legendary aether tools pre-match upgrades the equipped weapon to Purple tier rarity, providing an edge at the mission’s outset.
