Blizzard unveils a substantial Sombra rework for Overwatch 2 Season 7, set to launch on October 10. The overhaul removes Sombra’s Opportunist passive and introduces a new Stealth ability, functioning as a passive when she’s not taking damage, dealing damage, or using abilities. The Translocator ability now offers instant teleportation upon deployment. A new ability, Virus, inflicts damage over time, with the potential for doubled and accelerated damage on hacked enemies. Additional balance adjustments are anticipated for Sombra’s Machine Pistol, Hack, and EMP.

Season 7 brings broader hero balance changes, including Mei losing her Deep Chill passive and modifications to Zarya’s Projectile Barrier, decreasing Ult charge gain but maintaining a faster cooldown. Other heroes like Orisa, Ramattra, Wrecking Ball, Cassidy, Torbjorn, Brigitte, and Illari will undergo adjustments. The highly awaited Roadhog rework is scheduled for a later release in the season.

The update extends beyond hero changes, with Route 66 receiving modifications for improved attacker protection, particularly leaving spawn and navigating the first checkpoint. Season 7 introduces a crossover event with Diablo 4, featuring a limited-time mode and the addition of the Lilith Moira skin. Players can also anticipate the debut of the Samoa Control Map, the return of the Halloween Terror map, and a new Battle Pass.
