In Payday 3, stealth is often the key to success, and mastering silent takedowns can make all the difference. If you’re looking to keep things quiet while executing your heists, here’s how to perform a silent, non-lethal takedown in Payday 3.

How to Execute a Silent Takedown in Payday 3

To perform a silent takedown, you first need to take a guard as a human shield. Once you’ve masked up, sneak up behind a guard, and the option to take them as a human shield will appear. The silent takedown option becomes available once you have a guard as a human shield. After knocking them out, you can also carry their unconscious body over your shoulder.

This non-lethal takedown allows you to incapacitate guards without expending ammunition or throwable items. However, remember that you can only perform this action after masking up and having your weapon ready. If you’re attempting a stealthy heist but don’t want to commit to using a silenced weapon or throwable, this option provides a viable alternative.

Taking a guard as a human shield, executing a non-lethal takedown, and carrying the unconscious body are all performed using the Interact button. Keep in mind that for the latter two actions, you’ll need to hold down the Interact button. By default, these actions are bound to the following keys or buttons:

• PC (Keyboard & mouse): F Key
• PlayStation: Square
• Xbox: X

Remember that you’ll still need to answer the guard’s radio. After you’ve grabbed them, their radio will start ringing. While you can’t answer the radio while performing the takedown, you can do so while holding the guard as a shield or while carrying their unconscious body. We recommend executing the takedown as soon as possible to avoid any radio complications.
