Pokemon Scarlet and Violet players are in for a treat with the release of the Hidden Treasure of Area Zero DLC, which ushers them back into Generation 9. The first part of this DLC, known as the Teal Mask, spotlights the enigmatic Kitakami region. While smaller in size, Kitakami introduces a host of new Pokemon alongside some familiar faces.

Among the returning Pokemon is Morpeko, the Electric/Dark type two-sided mouse, first seen in Pokemon Sword and Shield. However, Morpeko is exclusive to Pokemon Violet in Generation 9. Scarlet players can still obtain Morpeko with some additional steps.
To encounter Morpeko in the wild, players must venture into Kitakami during the main story quest. Morpeko can be found in various wild areas around the outskirts of Kitakami, especially in the grassy plains of the Paradise Barrens zone and on Oni Mountain.

Morpeko’s small size makes it somewhat challenging to spot, regardless of the time of day. Typically, only one or two Morpeko are found in a specific area, and they are relatively docile, making battles straightforward. Morpeko’s vibrant colors make it more conspicuous on the mountain.
As an Electric/Dark type, Morpeko possesses the unique ability Hunger Switch, enabling it to switch between its Full Belly and Hangry forms, affecting its signature move, Aura Wheel. Its base stats are as follows:

- HP: 58
- Attack: 95
- Defense: 58
- Sp. Atk: 70
- Sp. Def: 58
- Speed: 97
For Pokemon Scarlet players, obtaining Morpeko may involve trading with Pokemon Violet owners through the Poke Portal.
Alternatively, they can look out for Tera Raid events featuring Morpeko, or transfer it from their Pokemon Home if it’s already in their collection.
