In World of Warcraft Patch 10.2, players can anticipate an expansion of Dragonriding content, including the introduction of the customizable Flourishing Whimsydrake. Furthermore, the game will offer players the opportunity to acquire the Grotto Netherwing Drake, along with fresh customization options for this mount.

Dragonriding has captivated World of Warcraft fans since its inception in Dragonflight. Blizzard has decided to bring this popular flight system to the entire game, with initial testing through Dragonriding races in old-world zones like the recently concluded Kalimdor Cup.

Patch 10.2 will introduce two new Dragonriding drakes for players to obtain and tailor to their preferences. The first is the Flourishing Whimsydrake, obtainable early on in the Guardians of the Dream campaign. This mount, a distant relative of the faerie dragon, boasts butterfly-like wings, antennae, a variety of vibrant color choices, and an endearing expression, making it an excellent option for characters with a fey or natural aesthetic.

The second mount, the Grotto Netherwing Drake, was originally distributed as a Trading Post reward in July, lacking customization options. However, players will now have the chance to acquire it through a quest in Patch 10.2. Players can alter the Grotto Netherwing Drake’s color, tail, horns, and more, similar to existing Dragonriding mounts.

Additionally, numerous customizations will be available for existing Dragonriding drakes, which players can collect through various activities in the new patch. Defeating Fyrakk in the upcoming raid will grant special customizations for the Renewed Proto-Drake, allowing players to transform it into his normal or Shadowflame forms, or acquire Anu’relos, Flame’s Guidance—a fiery owl that becomes the first non-dragon mount eligible for Dragonriding.

Dragonriding enthusiasts will find a wealth of content in Guardians of the Dream, including new racecourses, glyphs, and abilities like Swift Skimming and Wind’s Respite.
