Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1 Receives Update 1.3.0 – Patch Notes Revealed

Minor Frame Rate Improvements and Fixes Across Platforms

Konami has rolled out the latest update, version 1.3.0, for Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1, encompassing various fixes and enhancements. While the primary focus is on addressing issues on multiple platforms, there are notable improvements, including frame rate adjustments for Metal Gear Solid 2 and cutscene fixes for Metal Gear Solid 3.

Although the update doesn’t bring the frame rate to 60fps for console parity, it introduces several improvements aimed at enhancing the overall gaming experience. Konami has also acknowledged certain known issues and is actively working on resolving them in future updates.

Here’s a detailed look at the comprehensive patch notes:

METAL GEAR SOLID – Master Collection Version

  • Added save functionality improvements (Steam®)
  • Updated the Online Manual (Steam®)
  • Fixed some other minor issues

METAL GEAR SOLID 2: Sons of Liberty – Master Collection Version

  • Addressed an issue where a “Damaged File” error is sometimes displayed when trying to load save data (Steam®)
  • Resolved an issue causing frame rate drops during certain scenes (Nintendo Switchâ„¢)
  • Fixed an issue where videos would stop playing (Xbox Series X|S)
  • Corrected an issue for users in Japan where the English opening video would play in the Japanese version (Xbox Series X|S & Steam®)
  • Updated the Online Manual (Steam®)
  • Fixed some other minor issues

METAL GEAR SOLID 3: Snake Eater – Master Collection Version

  • Fixed an issue where some buttons were assigned multiple functions (Details on the updated controls are available in the Online Manual)
  • Addressed an issue where the audio was out of sync with certain videos
  • Resolved a flickering issue in some cutscenes (Nintendo Switchâ„¢)
  • Fixed an issue where continually holding down certain buttons sometimes resulted in errors (PlayStation®4)
  • Updated the Online Manual
  • Fixed some other minor issues

Metal Gear & Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake – Master Collection Version

  • Updated the Online Manual (Steam®)
  • Fixed some minor issues

METAL GEAR SOLID MASTER COLLECTION Vol.1 BONUS CONTENT

  • Updated the Online Manual (Steam®)
  • Fixed some minor issues

Issues Under Investigation

  • METAL GEAR SOLID – Master Collection Version: An issue which sometimes causes certain cutscenes to stop playing
  • METAL GEAR SOLID 2: Sons of Liberty – Master Collection Version: Multiple issues including laser pointer effect, sea lice display, trophy unlocking, and mic audio saving
  • METAL GEAR SOLID 3: Snake Eater – Master Collection Version: Issues with face paints display, trophy unlocking, and mic audio saving
  • Metal Gear & Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake – Master Collection Version: Trophy unlocking issues (PlayStation®4)

The development team is actively investigating and working on resolving these reported issues.
