The Battlegrounds Mobile India Series (BGIS) 2023 Round 2 qualifiers have concluded, showcasing a mix of underdog and established teams making their mark. Initially, 512 teams advanced to Round 2, but before the round commenced, Krafton, the organizer, released a list of teams disqualified from the event.

Now, as Round 3 of BGIS approaches, Krafton has issued another list of disqualified teams from Round 2. The primary reason for disqualification stems from issues related to hackers and cheaters during the qualifying matches.
With over 2000 teams participating in the online qualifiers and 256 proceeding to Round 2 of BGIS 2023, many teams faced elimination due to these unfair practices. To address community concerns, Krafton India Esports took decisive action against multiple teams before Round 2. The violations were cited under sections 4.1 and 6.2.4 of the BGIS 2023 rulebook.

Section 4.1 outlines player equipment regulations, emphasizing the use of approved handheld devices and prohibiting the use of peripheral devices or emulators that are not approved for competitive play. Section 6.2.4 addresses issues related to account sharing or playing under another player’s account, which is strictly prohibited.
Additionally, Krafton also banned 27 other teams, though the exact reasons were not specified. These bans are likely a result of major rule violations.

The upcoming third round of BGIS, commencing on September 14th, will feature 256 teams, including the top 32 from BGIS 2023 The Grind and 224 from Round 2. The teams are divided into 16 groups, with prominent names like Team Soul, Team GodLike, Orangutan, and more set to compete in this critical phase of the tournament.
