“Fortnite to Increase V-Bucks Prices in Multiple Regions” Fortnite, the popular online video game, is set to raise the prices of its premium in-game currency, V-Bucks, in various regions starting October 27th. The affected regions include the United States, Japan, and several European countries. According to reports from the Fortnite news account HYPEX on Twitter, the price increase will range from approximately 12% to 15% in US dollars, depending on the V-Bucks bundle.
For instance, the cost of 1000 V-Bucks will rise from $8 to $9. This shift comes after Fortnite had previously lowered the price of V-Bucks packages during a dispute between Epic Games and Apple over platform fees.

Epic Games has assured players that the pricing for the Fortnite Crew subscription will remain unchanged. However, certain bundles, such as the Final Reckoning Pack, Skull Squad Pack, Graveyard Drift Quest Pack, Saint Academy Quest Pack, and Transformers Pack, will be adjusted upon their return to storefronts.

While the new prices will still be lower than the pre-update rates, this price hike appears to be a response to the broader trend of increasing costs across various industries, possibly linked to inflation.
Recently, Epic Games settled a $520 million dispute with the Fair Trade Commission over in-app purchase practices, allowing affected players to seek refunds.
